'The past and the present collide in each piece'

I am interested in the re-fragmentation of traditional subject matter, such as landscape, still life and portraiture, and pull them through a film like lens of digitally influenced, fragmented approach to painting. the exploration of a variety of different tools has allowed me to develop a looser style and give a more uncontrolled feel to the pieces. My practice has been drawn towards current matters, particularly environmental landscape art. His intention is to draw attention to and highlights the ongoing effects people have on the world’s climate; exploring the land and textures, His process is to bring attention to what is going on and highlighting the effect that people have on the world’s climate, I am interested in taking classical subjects of still life, portraiture and figures in landscape and rearticulating them through a digitally influenced and fragmented approach to painting.

I hope the viewers of my work find themselves bouncing between engaging with the subject, from a landscape to a still life arrangement for example, and the actual substance of paint, the streaks, dashes, it's not just paint on a surface, but it's looking through the artist's eyes from what he saw. I tend to paint different subjects in the search for emotionally charged atmospheres. Fragmented and film like still of influential artists such as Jeremy Mann paintings, from his portraits to his city landscape. which I find to be both visually interesting as well as philosophically pertinent. Also to paintings of Christian Hook that are rooted in tradition yet Theand marks. Almost like breaking the fourth wall, I hope to coax the eye into believing the play of light on form, but then call it out and show that brimming with freshness and vitality. creating alternating perspectives on one subject. There is a fascination with classical art and the broken image combined with an exploration of time and motion through subsequent layers of transparent paint.
